An Unearthly Child event at the British Film Institute

Jeremy Young as Kal in An Unearthly Child

The British Film Institute’s year-long celebration of Doctor Who’s fiftieth anniversary got underway last month with a screening of An Unearthly Child, and a panel discussion with several members of the original cast and crew, including director Waris Hussein, Carole Ann Ford (Susan Foreman), William Russell (Ian Chesterton), and Jeremy Young (Kal, pictured above).

Writer Mark Gatiss also briefly discussed An Adventure in Space and Time that chronicles the development of Doctor Who.  Spoilers: it’s in color.

The next BFI event will be a screening and discussion of The Mind of Evil on March 10 at 2 p.m.

He launched Time and The – ! in 2011 after having the bright (?) idea to watch every Doctor Who story from the beginning and blog about it. (Yeah, he's way behind.)
